The Tiger Who Came to Tea, at Newark Park

From 6 July – 1 September we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of the much-loved classic children’s book ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr.

‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ will be in the Buff Bedroom and the Newark exhibition room on the top floor of the house from 6 July – 1 September. You can visit the tiger every weekday from 11am to 5pm (last admission 4.30pm). Admission to the exhibition is included in your admission (free for National Trust members and under 5s).

Our exhibition  – originated by Seven Stories, the National Centre for Children’s Books, in partnership with HarperCollins Children’s Books – brings this delightful and enduring picture book to a new generation of families.

The magic of The Tiger Who Came to Tea story is brought vividly to life with a giant cuddly tiger and an interactive kitchen, so that children can make their own tea for the tiger, as well as enjoying Judith Kerr’s iconic drawings.
